FORD'S fleet expertise and resources are being shared among its sister marques in Ford Motor Company's Premier Automotive Group (PAG). Ford's Business Centre in Byfleet, Surrey, is becoming a focal point for corporate enquiries from customers of Ford, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover.

Volvo and Jaguar staff have been based in the centre since September 2000 and personnel from Land Rover are due to join them and their Ford colleagues this summer. A Ford spokesman said: 'The Business Centre has been running in its present form for about five years, and other PAG brands will be adopting it. It gives a single point of contact for our fleet customers as a business and service centre. It will be easier for fleet customers if they have cars in more than one brand in the group.'

Land Rover corporate sales manager David Easton said: 'Byfleet will become a one-stop shop, holding all the databases and manage many other marketing strategies and mailing support services. It will give Land Rover access to the work and databases that Ford has.'

Jaguar corporate sales manager Christine Downton said: 'The centre helps the flow of leads between the brands.' Volvo national sales manager Ken Anders said: 'There will be some return for Ford from the partnership because our customers might be interested in the Ka or the Focus.'
