AIRTOURS fleet bosses are expecting savings of £1 million after awarding the contract for the supply and management of its 800-vehicle fleet to Hertz Lease. Airtours is one of the world's largest holiday companies and due to a number of acquisitions its fleet was previously managed locally within each business, using various acquisition methods and suppliers.

As well as the savings from the sole supplier outsourcing contract, Airtours is able to offer drivers greater choice of vehicle and an enhanced driver service. Norman Turner, head of procurement at Airtours, said: 'The transition to Hertz Lease has been complicated due to our previous fleet arrangements, but I am finding them approachable and contactable - even at director level. We are looking forward to utilising Hertz Lease's various ancillary services to further enhance the smooth running of our fleet.'
