VOLKSWAGEN is targeting fleets with the launch of a replacement tyre programme that will be run through its dealer network.

The firm has gone down the same road as Peugeot by using the software and systems of independent network Tyreserve to offer fleet tyre business to its 252 retailers. The programme means Volkswagen fleet cars can receive a complete maintenance service at the dealer.

Tyreserve is supplying the nationwide facilities required by fleets, such as central billing, brand preferences and tyre management reporting.

Fleet managers can book jobs, track payments, review account histories or put account parameters in place through the tyreserve.com website.

David Goodyear, managing director of Tyreserve said: 'Manufacturers have largely been absent from the fleet fast-fit market for many years now. Now, working with them, we have been able to offer them an effective system.'
