THE Environment Agency has taken delivery of a further 20 Terrano vans, bringing the total number of Nissan vehicles on its fleet to 88.

Their duties include transporting environmental protection inspectors off-road and into restricted areas, taking fisheries enforcement officers along dirt tracks to waterways to carry out rod licence checks and helping machinery drivers get on and off site.

Environment Agency national contracts and processes manager Tony Sale said: 'The Terrano van is a good, practical, lightweight, 4x4 that's very comfortable to drive on the road and can handle a wide range of tasks, so it's ideal for our needs.'
