COMPANY car drivers have a poor knowledge of tyre law, according to a recent survey.

Motorway Tyre and Autocentres questioned 1,100 fleet drivers and found that just 39% of drivers knew that the minimum tread depth is 1.6mm.

Paul Harrell, managing director of Motorway, said: 'It's quite shocking, considering that over 74% of the drivers say they cover in excess of 20,000 miles a year, and 43% cover 30,000 miles or more. We must all play our part in making sure that the education process continues.'
