1,000th BCA sale

BRITISH Car Auction's Bridgwater site celebrated its 1,000th sale – setting record figures for a single day's trading at the centre.

The centre, which opened in 1993, holds two sales a week and it staged a special event to mark its 1,000th sale with more than 600 vehicles entered on the day from every sector of the motor industry, including local fleet operators.

BCA said that hundreds of buyers turned up for the celebration and nearly 500 cars were sold on the day for just under £2 million – both record figures for the centre in one day's trading.

Centre manager Ivan Ridsdale said: 'BCA Bridgwater has the facilities to rival any in the industry.'
