DAIHATSU is more determined than ever to bring its Copen roadster to the UK following interest at the Birmingham International Motor Show.

The manufacturer says that more than 1,500 show-goers expressed a serious interest in owning the 600cc turbocharged sportscar.

Daihatsu's technical chief Roy Marshall said: 'It is currently only for sale in Japan, where vehicle regulations differ from those in the UK. Before the motor show we were already working to overcome the various technical obstacles. Now we are even more determined to find solutions in order to satisfy the obvious high demand for the car.'
