A PAN-European search for a new fleet management provider by science and technology research firm QinetiQ Group has pinpointed the UK as the home of good service.

The firm has chosen UK-based Goodwood Fleet Management to provide its global car rental and fleet management service requirements.

The appointment of Goodwood follows a six-month Europe-wide tender which involved many big players in fleet management and car hire. QinetiQ, a major international business, requests up to 400 hire cars a day across its UK sites.

Goodwood's solution involves managing requests through a network of regionally-based car hire organisations.

Goodwood Fleet Management managing director Tony Donnelly: 'We are delighted to have beaten off the traditional competition and are committed to delivering a service to support their business operations that will ultimately deliver far more value than QinetiQ may have previously experienced.

'Central to the decision was our shared vision on how technology should be used to deliver cost certainty, reduce waste and improve efficiency. Most organisations could save huge sums of money on car services if they focused on the real numbers and ironed out the inefficiencies and waste.'
