LOGISTICS firm Walon has launched a new plated vehicle delivery service designed for fleets, dealers and manufacturers.

The service, called Walon Drive, has recruited dozens of drivers and is looking to appoint more staff, who will all be trained by the firm's in-house driver trainers. They will be available for single or multiple deliveries in the UK and mainland Europe, and will be able to carry out vehicle appraisals and checks, as well as conducting vehicle handovers to leasing company and manufacturer standards.

Alan Goodwin, head of the new division, said: 'Walon has existing customers that we will look to supply with this new service and I am expanding the number of drivers day-by-day to ensure that we can deliver a first class service to new and potential customers immediately.'

Walon already operates a fleet of 350 transporters and handles millions of vehicle movements a year.
