A MAJOR £160,000 investment in tracking systems has paid off for heating, plumbing and gas maintenance group CHN – which recovered a stolen van during the first week a unit was installed.

One of the company's employees noticed that a Ford Transit had gone from the yard where it was parked at 6.30am and informed the branch manager, who was able to find out the vehicle's location immediately. It was recovered just one-and-a-half-hours later.

The Fleetstar system developed by Cybit was able to track the route the vehicle took from the time of being stolen, how long it took to break into it, and where the vehicle was dumped.
