Trading places: the latest appointments in fleet

  • DOMINIC Elms has been appointed national business sales manager with SEAT. He leads a team of regional account managers and dealer business sales managers within the company's overall operations function. Elms joined the group in 1996 as a management trainee where he worked within a dealership as well as spending six months in Barcelona with the export sales department.

  • THE Glass Qualifications Authority (GQA) has appointed Peter Fanning of RAC Auto Windscreens as a board director. The authority offers a range of NVQ/SVQ qualifications covering many occupations within the glass and related industries. Fanning has been appointed specifically to represent the automotive glazing sector and brings more than 15 years' experience within the industry.

  • IAN Smith joins the sales team of Lex Commercials Derby. He reports to general manager Sukhdev Singh and takes responsibility for new and used LDV van sales and new business throughout Derbyshire. Smith, from Mansfield, has five years' experience in the commercial vehicle industry.

  • AUTOGLASS has appointed Tony Lloyd as the new manager for its Derby branch. Lloyd has been with Autoglass for 12 years and was previously a supervisor in the fitting technicians' team. His remit includes overseeing the local mobile units and building on the requirements of fleet drivers in the area.

  • PHIL Molkenthin has been appointed by Kia as its national fleet manager. He joins the company from Daewoo where he was major corporate and fleet manager. The company has also appointed a used car manager. David Macpherson was previously regional business manager and responsible for dealer liaison in the Midlands region.

  • WILLIS Group Holdings has expanded its fleet management service, Drive, with the appointment of Nick Williams as sales and marketing director. He was previously head of sales with AMC and now works alongside Austin Baigrie and Mike Russell, business development executive and motor services director respectively.

  • BARNES LDV has appointed Bob Grevatt as van sales specialist. He joins the Shoreham-by-Sea dealership with 13 years' experience in the motor industry with the same Brighton-based family business, Tates. For the past four years he was sales manager with the company.
