AMTRAK Express Parcels has invested in a new fleet of 50 vans with a showroom value of more than £1m.

The 50 Iveco panel vans will be supplied on a three-year contract hire agreement with Huntingdon-based Powermarque.

The deal includes vehicle maintenance covering regular services, tyre replacements, mechanical repairs and breakdown recovery.

In addition to the Ivecos, Amtrak is also leasing 23 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters. The vehicles will be used to support Amtrak's nationwide network which operates a fleet of 1,000 local delivery vehicles, used to distribute parcels to customers and more than 300 trunk vehicles, which transport parcels between hubs and depots.

Amtrak managing director Jonathan Smith said: 'Powermarque made sure it understood exactly what we were looking for and was prepared to explore a number of options in order to identify the best deal. Not only that, but it stuck to the agreed schedule.'
