FLEETS will be given a twice-a-year independent risk assessment through a new policy launched by commercial insurance firm AIG Europe.

The policy, called Fleet Protector, will include the assessments for vehicle fleets with insurance premiums in excess of £100,000 a year, or £50,000 when written alongside other AIG Europe liability products.

The reports will be undertaken by Risk Answers.

AIG Europe senior underwriter Guy Fraser said: 'We want to become more active in the fleet market and helping companies manage their fleet risks effectively and efficiently is the core to our marketing.'

Risk Answers director Jeremy Hay said: 'Some fleets will become uninsurable unless they take action to manage their risk exposure.'
