VOLKSWAGEN (UK) and British Car Auctions raised thousands of pounds for Children in Need at an 'auction within an auction'.

Nearly 100 Volkswagen dealers at BCA Birmingham bid for lots such as tickets to see a Premiership football match, DVD players and weekend breaks, raising £4,365 in the process.

Lots were donated by Volkswagen (UK), Volkswagen dealers, BCA, CAP and Glass's Guide. The event took place at a special sale of cars direct from the manufacturer.

BCA Birmingham manager David Ross said: 'This was a first class event that raised a considerable sum for Children in Need.'
