FLEET Synergy International hosted its annual conference attended by representatives from some of the world's leading fleet companies.

About 20 members from North America to Finland met to discuss the organisation's marketing activities for next year and to welcome a new member from the Republic of Ireland, Merrion Fleet Management.

The company, which describes itself as the fourth largest fleet management company in Ireland, was represented by managing director Conor Kelly and general manager client relations, David Wilkinson.

FSI reported it had noted a significant increase in inquiries and several new tender requests since it changed its name from Interleasing and introduced new members earlier this year.

Its marketing plan includes the unveiling of a cross-European database to streamline the handling of European inquiries from existing customers of individual member companies.

'This year's conference has really set the foundation for substantial growth in 2003. By sharing more knowledge and pooling resources, FSI will continue to expand its services to companies looking for an international fleet solution,' said Colin Wreglesworth, head of corporate customer relationships at Lloyds TSB autolease, which hosted the event.
