ELECTRONIC marketplace Mascus has acquired a similar operation in Sweden that sells equipment and used commercial vehicles.

The take-over of the Byt-marketplaces, www.bytmaskiner.com and www.bytlastbil.com, means Mascus now offers buyers the widest selection of machines and sellers the broadest clientele in Northern Europe, the company said.

'Because of the way Mascus operates, the acquisition of the Byt-marketplaces in Sweden will also impact positively on those who use Mascus in the UK, ' said UK country manager John O'Leary. 'If a visitor is looking for a specific machine, Mascus offers a much wider market than they would otherwise have access to.'

The Swedish sites were founded two years ago and are based on a licence from Bytbil Nordic, operator of Swedish used car site www.bytbil.com.
