• THE managing director of Citroen Belgium, Alain Favey, has left his post to become managing director of Citroen UK. He brings 11 years' experience to the role, having also been managing director of Citroen Denmark.

  • FORD of Europe has appointed Peter Heller to the newly-established position of vice-president, quality. He will have responsibility for all quality functions in areas including product development, manufacturing and supplier technical assistance. Heller has previously held a number of positions in Ford's German manufacturing operations. Ford has also appointed Hans Schardt as director of European vehicle operations.

  • INTERNATIONAL multi-marque leasing company CW Lease Group has created a new management board of Jeroen van Hasselt and Michon Noij. Van Hasselt has been appointed managing director of the CW Lease Group, where he will be responsible for CW Lease's international strategy as well as its Dutch operation. He was previously managing director of Mazda importer Auto Palace de Binckhorst, and replaces Koen de Boer, who has taken early retirement. Noij has been promoted to director of CW Lease Group, with responsibility for finance, and IT.

  • THE European operations of global information solutions business Equifax has appointed Kevin Coyne as its new executive vice-president and group executive. Coyne is a former commercial director of GE Capital Global Consumer Finance. He takes over the role from Rich Crutchfield who is returning to the US to head Equifax's global internet activities.

  • RAYMOND Grigg, executive director of aftersales for General Motors Europe, has been appointed executive director of the Fuji Heavy Industry Liaison Office in Tokyo, following GM's acquisition of a 20% stake in FHI, maker of Subaru vehicles. He will be joined by Gregory Peck, vice-president of supply for Vauxhall Motors and Isuzu Bedford, who becomes FHI general manager purchasing division.

  • OPEL has announced a series of changes to its management board, with Andrej Barcak appointed to head its newly-created department of sales, marketing and customer care. As part of a reorganisation of the department, director of aftersales, Klaus Bapp, has left the company by mutual agreement. Manfred Wolf has retired from the position of executive director of quality assurance and a new appointment to the position will be announced at a later date. Walter Borst will take over as executive director of finance from Hennig Klages, who is retiring in October.

  • BUDGET UK has promoted Justin Shaw to the position of operations director. He was formerly operations development manager, and before joining Budget in 1998, worked for Europcar and Avis. (May 2000)
