THE AA has given the go-ahead for its entire fleet of patrol and recovery vehicles to be equipped with route guidance systems, in a bid to speed up response times for its fleet.

By mid-May, all 3,800 liveried vehicles will carry Blaupunkt's Professional Satellite Navigation System, with 1,000 units already in place.

The small colour screen could also include breakdown information, to replace the mobile data terminal currently used by the AA.

Kerry Richardson, AA director of road services, said: 'Locating our members quickly and efficiently is crucial to roadside assistance.'
