BCA has introduced its Direct e-commerce vehicle remarketing system into Denmark, with fleet leasing giant LeasePlan the first customer to adopt the multi-channel disposal route for its end-of-contract vehicles.

Under a programme called LeasePlan Direct, the leasing company will use a combination of physical auctions and online sales to remarket its end of contract vehicles.

BCA Autoauktion will inspect, prepare, and where requested, Smart repair vehicle prior to their sale, and advise LeasePlan on the most appropriate remarketing channel to maximise residual values.

Based in Vejle, BCA will also provide LeasePlan with back-up logistics services such as vehicle storage and transportation. LeasePlan will choose the sales channel for end-of-lease vehicles based on 'current channel performance and the age and condition of vehicles'.

Used car dealers can purchase vehicles at a fixed online price or bid competitively in the auction hall.

Per Kjaersfeldt, managing director of BCA Autoauktion Denmark, said: 'LeasePlan Direct is a total concept that optimises and increases the rate of turnover, the quality and the market price of the vehicles offered on behalf of this important customer. Not only will LeasePlan's leasing customers benefit as improved residuals can lead to reduced rates, but dealers now have the opportunity to purchase this high quality stock both in physical auction and through remote online access.

'By bringing the first class selection of ready to retail vehicles to the widest possible buying base we can ensure LeasePlan vehicles achieve the best possible residuals whatever the market conditions,' he added.
