THE final whistle has blown in the Fleet News/ATS Euromaster Rugby Challenge, and the champs and chumps can put away their boots for another season.

In the final session of the competition two winners emerged thanks to frequent and judicious management of their teams, even though they tied with a chasing pack on 47 points.

Martyn Cahill, sales manager for Pennine Honda in Ashton-under-Lyne, manager of the Martyn Cahill's, along with Fiona Burke marketing executive for Thales Telematics in Chessington, who manages Orchid and took first and second spot, having made the most tactical changes over the final period.

They will both be in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on April 6 to see Wales take on Scotland.

However, the other runners-up don't end the season empty-handed, with a case of beer and a replica Six Nations shirt winging their way to each of the third to sixth placed team managers. So well done Timothy Carter, UK sales manager for Mitutoyo UK (Banzai Boys); Elaine Healey, fleet operations manager for Sovereign Fleet Services (Charlie Modos); Jonathon David, director of procurement Specsavers Optical Group (Cobo Bay); and Chris Franks, profit improvement manager at Dollond & Aitchison (Frank's Babes).
