WELL-known fleet industry figure David Voss has been appointed chairman of Provecta Car Plan, the growing provider of structured employee car ownership (ECO) schemes.

Voss is the former founder and managing director of VELO, and has held senior positions with the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association.

'I'm very ambitious for this company. Provecta has the right strategy and vision to take the industry as a whole to the next level,' he said.

Provecta is gearing up for expansion with the opening of new offices in Newcastle and Reading, and counts among its clients Mowlem, Maersk and Christies.

Nick Sutton, managing director of Provecta, believes the Government will adopt a harder tax line on company cars in the next Budget, and claims that ECO schemes will increase in popularity.

ECO plans see employees technically own their company cars thereby avoiding company car tax, but staff continue to enjoy the peace of mind, hassle free benefits of a typical fleet vehicle.

'Many organisations will no longer be able to afford to run a fleet,' he said.
