A NEW self-contained nitrogen generator is being targeted at fleets and dealers in a bid to improve company car driver safety.

Compressed air, the traditional medium for inflating car tyres, contains both oxygen and nitrogen, but oxygen leaks through the tyre walls three times faster than nitrogen, leaving tyres under-inflated. Using pure nitrogen ensures the tyre stays fully inflated for longer, which prompted the launch of TyreSaver. The generator can fill 25 to 30 tyres an hour.
