BENTLEY has revealed the first technical details of its new GT coupé, which the car builder claims will bridge the gap between luxury grand tourers and supercars.

Unlikely to be on many choice lists, the car (pictured) will use four-wheel drive and with a 6.0-litre, 12-cylinder engine, developing 500bhp, the GT coupé is expected to sprint from 0-60mph in less than five seconds and have a maximum speed of more than 180mph.

Its torque figure has not been revealed yet but is likely to be in excess of 700lb-ft, and while its 6.0-litre W12 is based on an engine common to other manufacturers within the Volkswagen Group, Bentley has modified the design and will build it in Crewe.
