MANHEIM Auctions Haydock had the second biggest van sale in its history as 199 vehicles went under the hammer recently.

The sale of ex-fleet commercial vehicles saw 250 models put up for disposal, with buyers coming from as far away as Kent and Scotland.

Vendors included daily rental firms and contract hire firms, finance houses, Consignia and Scottish Power.

Alex Wright, group commercial vehicle manager, said: 'A good range of stock in a single sale brings the buyers out in force, as they know they can come away from a single visit to the auction with a good range of stock.'

Prices included: a 1996 N Ford Transit 190D 2.5 with 21,883 miles on the clock, which sold for £7,000 or 120% of CAP Clean.

A 1999 T Renault Master T35D, with 60,150 miles, sold for £4,425, or 133% of its benchmark price, while a 1999 T Vauxhall Astravan Envoy, with 75,667 miles sold for £3,800 or 119%.
