Survey highlights regional awareness of internet buying

A NATIONAL survey has revealed that car buyers in Reading are the most confident about using the internet for online purchasing.

Drivethedeal.com, a new and used car online retailer, surveyed 91,381 members of the public during the past year to reveal where the most internet-aware customers live. Topping the league was Reading which accounted for 2,497 or 2.7% of visitors to Drivethedeal.com's website. London and the south east accounted for around one in five of all visitors, with Bristol and Cheltenham in fourth and fifth place in the top 10. London's E5 and E8 postcodes were at the bottom of the league.

Drivethedeal.com's managing director Richard Sanders said: 'The majority of our car purchasers come from London, the south and south east where predominantly wealthy motorists seem very comfortable to buy their next car online.'
