AA offers £30,000 guarantee on car histories

USED car buyers are being offered a £30,000 guarantee on their next purchase if they use a new premium version of the AA Car Data Check to examine a vehicle's history.

If a customer buys a vehicle and uses the services, but subsequently finds the information it includes is incorrect, then the AA will refund up to £30,000 of the purchase price, compared to £10,000 for the standard service.

The premium check will reveal important information such as whether the car is stolen, has finance outstanding, has ever been written off, or has been imported or exported. It will also show number of keepers, colour changes, number plate changes and on some vehicles mileage data and a valuation of the vehicle.

Helen Goodsall from AA Car Data Check, said: 'About 10% of used car sales per year are within the £10,000-£30,000 bracket so obviously we needed to take into consideration people who are looking to buy within this price range. The launch of this product will offer peace of mind to more used car buyers and although it costs a little more, when large amounts of money are changing hands, the information that Car Data Check offers and guarantees becomes crucial.'
