FLEETS disposing of large estate cars are now making gains compared with saloons under current market conditions, according to Glass's Information Services.

Adrian Rushmore, managing editor of Glass's Guide, said that giant load luggers, especially those with a desirable brand are getting better prices than the equivalent saloons. Rushmore said: 'Large estate cars, particularly from premium brand manufacturers, have been enjoying a level of demand not matched by their saloon counterparts. We are referring to cars like the BMW 5-series, Saab 9-5, Audi A6 and Volvo V70.'

Rushmore added that values in general have been adjusted downwards which was typical of mid-summer.
