POWERMARQUE, the contract hire and leasing firm belonging to water giant AWG, has renamed its online subsidiary Calleva as Powermarque Direct. Powermarque bought Calleva in 1999 as part of the first stage in a promised multi-million pound buying programme.

The rebranded firm's website includes special offers, online quote requests and screensaver downloads, along with a discussion forum for customers. The launch comes as parent company Powermarque attempts to put a troubled year behind it.

Parent firm AWG said in its annual results for the year to March 31 that Powermarque had 'performed poorly.' Results showed that Powermarque had to set aside £20.7 million in exceptional costs related to adjustments in debt provisions and the value of its 12,000 vehicle fleet.
