Raising the pace of van delivery

A NEW internet-based system to speed up van delivery to customers has been launched by Cold Chain Vehicle Solutions and its sister company Car & Commercial Vehicle Solutions.

The service, called Vans 2 Go, removes the need to contact numerous dealers to get the price of commercial vehicles.

The website goes live this month and will initially be used by staff and sales agents to raise quotes within seconds and transmit them electronically to customers. Later this year a handful of key fleet customers will be given password protected access to the system to obtain their own quotes.

Paul Mckay, managing director of the two van companies, said: 'When fleets call a dealer for van quotes they are frequently entering a minefield which is often both confusing and irritating.

'Having experienced myself the problem of obtaining a quote on a standard vehicle from several dealerships, I decided it was time to develop a system which automatically raised quotes quickly and efficiently.'

Having selected a van manufacturer, Vans 2 Go highlights all vehicles in its line-up. The keyboard operator can then highlight a selected vehicle and specify exact requirements to generate an on-the-road quote.
