Tracking cash bonus for staff

POWER generator installation firm Power Plant Services (PPS) has been able to pay its employees more money by cutting costs using a vehicle tracking system.

The firm has fitted Minorplanet Vehicle Management Information devices to its fleet of 24 vehicles. Using the tracking, it has been able to ensure that there are no bogus overtime claims being filed, and as a result has been able to raise its hourly overtime rates.

Lewis Wright, operations manager at Power Plant, said: 'We invested in the system because we wanted to demonstrate to our clients the precise level of control that we have over our fleet, giving them a service that is second to none.

'We can live track our engineers, then assign the one that is closest to the job, improving the level of our rapid response service.'
