French logistics move

EUROPEAN vehicle distribution company Wallenius Wilhelmsen has increased its stake in vehicle logistics company Compagnie d'Affretement et de Transport (CAT).

It has increased its stake from 20% to 40% and says the move is part of its long-term strategy to 'deliver premium logistics services to customers'.

'Our increased investment is a further indication that Wallenius Wilhelmsen is a committed and active player in the automotive logistics industry,' said senior vice-president, logistics management, Steve Cadden.

'We are committed to actively expanding the development of our global logistics services, and developing quality solutions for our finished vehicle customers.

'Coupled with our existing logistics products, this increased investment in CAT further enhances our ability to deliver logistics solutions on a global scale.'

CAT has operations in 14 countries with 19 subsidiaries and one of its main activities is vehicle logistics. Its other owners are AutoLogic (40%) and TNT (20%).
