AUDI has unveiled a new SUV concept which the manufacturer says combines all-terrain ability with MPV versatility.
The Pikes Peak quattro design study (pictured) takes its name from the Pikes Peak hill climb event in America in which Audi scored victories from 1985 to 1987 with its legendary quattro. It uses a twin-turbo 4.2-litre V8, similar to that fitted to the high-performance RS6, updated with FSI direct injection technology and producing 493bhp.
Special features on the car include a laser optic instrument display, parking assistance camera, lane departure warning system, adaptive air suspension run-flat tyres. Audi says there are currently no plans for production of the car.
