MG ROVER is to launch a turbocharged liquefied petroleum gas-powered car next month. Sales of bi-fuel Volvos leapt by more than 500% last year and the firm predicts a continuing boom driven by congestion charging in London. Bi-fuel sales rose from 160 to 881.
It currently offers a 1.8-litre LPG conversion, but next month will launch a 2.5 V6 and 1.8T engine to add to new smaller-engined clean fuel models announced this week. From this week, LPG 1.4 and 1.6-litre engines will be available.
