FLEET traffic has doubled at Manheim Scottish Auctions' Glasgow site over the past three months to more than 500 units a month.

The growth has helped its corporate sales business increase to 35% of total volume three months after the opening of the second auction hall at the 18-acre site.

Andy Anderson, operations director of Manheim's business partner Scottish Motor Auctions Group, said: 'Fleet business accounted for 10% of the site's volume 18 months ago, but since contract hire and leasing companies have started to enter a range of good quality fleet cars, buyer interest has grown dramatically.

'The increase in undercover parking from 20,000 to 50,000 square feet has also helped the site as buyers can view the stock of an entire fleet sale without having to brave the elements.'
