SMALL to medium sized businesses (SMEs) have been accused of not doing enough to help protect the environment.

So, in a bid to remind them of their responsibilities to help protect the planet, a new website has been set up to help them comply with green legislation.

The site - www.netregs.gov.uk - offers advice on good environmental practice and clear guidance on environmental regulations affecting small businesses involved in the road and rail transport industry, from contractors working with passenger and freight trains and freight hauliers to smaller coach operators, taxi firms and drivers.

Using plain language, the site takes visitors straight to the information they need, without having to waste valuable time wading through pages of irrelevant information or complex regulations.
