THE Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) has launched a new service for the industry, offering a best practice guide on key fleet issues.

The Interactive Fleet Guide provides in-depth advice on car fleet management, including managing people, policy, administration, funding, depreciation and disposal, risk management, law, benefit-in-kind and cash-versus-car policies. National Fleet is sponsoring the guide, which is available via email to all existing and prospective ICFM members.

Contributors to the guide include the 10 well-known ICFM council members who promote and support the ICFM on a voluntary basis. By using email for distribution, National Fleet and the ICFM hope to ensure members have access to the most up-to-date fleet management information at all times.

National Fleet's managing director, Kevin Parker, said: 'National Fleet is pleased to support the ICFM in the development of the Interactive Fleet Guide. Today's fleet managers are required to master numerous disciplines to meet increasing legislative requirements. The interactive guide provides reliable advice and reference to help them keep on top of issues such as accounting, asset management, employment law and personnel management.'

Tom Madden, chairman of the ICFM, added: 'We all work in increasingly busy environments when people want answers now and problems solved yesterday. This is where the guide can help.

'Fleet managers and all who have responsibility for managing and administrating fleets now have a new and powerful resource at their fingertips that will provide essential advice for their day-to-day work.'
