FLEETS will be a key part of the drive to ensure emissions from new cars are nearly half the current level by 2012.

The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is an action and advisory group promoting the shift to clean low carbon vehicles and fuels, tasked with moving forward the Government's bid to reduce vehicle emissions.

The establishment of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership was a central pillar of the Powering Future Vehicles Strategy and works closely with a joint ministerial group on low carbon vehicles and fuels.

David Wallis, executive director, told the audience: 'The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership can make a difference, but it needs help, including the help of the fleet industry.'
