BCA has launched a new online service to help buyers search for commercial vehicles anywhere in its network.

The new service, at www.commercialauctionview.com, went live at the beginning of this month and, BCA claims, is already generating considerable online traffic.

Customers can search online for commercial vehicles by make, model, specification, location or even age throughout BCA's network with catalogue information displayed and often a picture of the actual vehicle for sale. It also offers a search function.

The latest sale catalogues can be downloaded and the whole system is updated regularly as new stock is entered on to BCA's database. The service is available to everyone and is free of charge.

Commercial Auction View has six specialist sections to help potential buyers quickly locate the product type they want.

These include light commercials, which the company says regularly feature on the site with about 2,000 vehicles from car-derived vans, to panel vans, tippers, chassis cabs and specially-equipped vehicles.

Duncan Ward, BCA's UK business development manager – commercial vehicles, said: 'In the widely-diversified commercial vehicle sector, knowing what it is and where to find it is a major benefit. End users have been visiting Commercial Auction View in significant numbers as they search for vehicles that are ready to go to work.

'Sellers benefit from the extra marketing exposure their vehicles are enjoying and the additional buying power this will generate.'

Ward added: 'We have had a great response to the new Commercial Auction View service. As the service is open to all and holds such a diverse range of stock, we have seen thousands logging on every day. It is sure to become a vital tool for sellers and buyers.'
