The latest industry appointments

  • KWIK-FIT Fleet has promoted Joanna Gardner to the dual role of national sales manager and Business Drive Card project manager. She will be responsible for a team of 10 area sales managers and will work closely with the Business Drive Card telesales team. Gardner was previously employed as one of five corporate account managers responsible for fleets and as a strategic account manger has responsibility for developing the Business Drive Card. Gardner takes over the new role from David Helliwell, who has now left Kwik-Fit Fleet.

  • JOE Howick is Countrywide Vehicle Management's new sales director after being promoted to the newly-formed position. Howick joined Countrywide, which is part of the Leasedrive group, in 1996 as sales manager from Convinflow, where he was sales director.

  • FORD of Europe has appointed Alain Visser as the new director of sales, service and distribution for commercial vehicles. Visser takes on the role after working with Ford for 17 years across its European divisions. He began his career in Belgium within the sales and marketing division, moving to the UK in 1991. Visser also completed roles as Ford's marketing director in Switzerland and was responsible for general sales in the former East Germany.

  • PIETER de Wall will succeed David Taylor as BMW's general manager for motorcycles on January 1 next year, with Taylor being promoted to a new role of regional director for motorcycles for the Americas. De Wall is joining the UK arm of BMW after working as general manager for motorcycles at BMW South Africa for the past nine years.

  • MOTOR finance provider, Singer & Friedlander Finance has appointed Chris Tompkin as sales manager. Tompkin will work closely with the group's director of sales and marketing Miles Roberts in introducing the customer sales strategy. A large part of his role will focus on promoting the group's personal contract purchase product. Tompkin has more than 20 years experience in the motor industry, including positions at national, area and branch level with Lombard and First National Motor Finance.

  • ROBERT Pieczka is Arval PHH's new director of product marketing responsible for the marketing and development teams in the company's fuel and business mobility divisions. He will also be in charge of marketing the AllStar fuel card. Prior to joining Arval, Pieczka headed the marketing division at Sequence, a subsidiary of Royal & Sun Alliance. He has also held marketing positions at Eastern Energy, Nationwide Building Society and Clydesdale Bank.
