FLEET News award winner Alison Crump has joined driver training company DriveTech as business development manager.

The former fleet manager joins the company from Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, part of Johnson & Johnson, where she ran its 125-strong fleet.

Crump was responsible for the 'safe fleet' scheme, which led to the company's accident rate dropping from 10.1 accidents per one million miles at the end of 1997 to just over four accidents per one million miles at the end of 2002.

She won the Fleet News Risk Management Award in 2002 for the company's 'safe fleet' programme and other wide-ranging initiatives she undertook.
