VAUXHALL is planning LPG versions of its new Meriva mini-MPV, which goes on sale at the end of June.

The announcement came as the firm revealed the full engine line-up for the car, which will be priced from about £12,000 to £15,500. An updated 1.4-litre petrol engine, with 95bhp will be offered alongside a 125bhp 1.8-litre unit and a 1.7-litre 80bhp diesel. However a 1.3-litre Euro IV compliant common rail diesel, developed with Fiat, will join the range along with a new 1.7-litre diesel developed with Isuzu.

A 1.4-litre LPG is planned, with Corsa also set to get the engine in the summer, after Vauxhall revealed clean fuel orders almost doubled last year.
