ENERGY solutions supplier Elyo (UK) Industrial, has plugged into a major source of fleet savings through a deal with Whitechapel Corporate Services.

The vehicle funding specialist, part of Lloyds TSB autolease, has created and implemented a £2 million car ownership scheme for the firm, which provides the benefits of a company car but without the benefit-in-kind tax liability.

Whitechapel will supply 150 vehicles to Elyo, offered with an increased vehicle choice and with the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade.

In addition to designing the scheme, Whitechapel consultants secured full tax approval for the scheme from the Inland Revenue.

Rebecca Turner, human resources director at Elyo, said: 'We were impressed with the amount of support Whitechapel provided, advising at every stage and helping us to deal with a number of challenging human resources issues. As more of our old company car agreements come to an end, Whitechapel will be asked to roll out their schemes across the rest of the company.'

Sue Wintrip, Whitechapel business development manager, said: 'Although this meant working to tight timescales we were able to support Elyo through every stage of the transition.'
