CAR manufacturer Opel has appointed Bernhard Lothschutz as a member of the company's management board.

Lothschutz becomes chief financial officer effective from April 1. He has worked for Opel and General Motors since 1966.

Most recently, he was executive director, finance, at GM's Holden subsidiary in Australia and has also held senior finance positions at Opel España, GM Austria and GM Hungary as well as at Opel in Germany. He succeeds Walter Borst, who was appointed treasurer of GM Corporation earlier this year.
