THE Scottish Ambulance Service has taken on a fleet of 30 Volkswagen LT46s to use as emergency ambulances.

The new fleet, which comes equipped with 2.8 TDI diesel engines, will be used throughout Scotland. Mike Jackson, general manger of fleet service for Scottish Ambulances said: 'We have been very impressed with the level of aftersales support Volkswagen is proposing to offer us. This is down to factory product support and a large number of van centres which understand the fleet operation a lot better than non-commercial biased dealerships.'
