INCHCAPE Automotive has won a two-year extension to its contract with Renault to refurbish ex-company and rental buy-back cars.

The vehicles are prepared to retail condition at its dedicated Renault car and van refurbishment centre in Northamptonshire before they are sold through franchised dealers. Inchcape opened the centre, branded Renault To Go, after it won an initial three-year contract from the French manufacturer to refurbish vehicles.

The contract has now been extended to January 2005. Last year about 11,000 vehicles went through the Renault To Go programme and this year the firm expects the figure to increase to about 16,000 units.
