WILTSHIRE Ambulance Service is using four Honda CR-V vehicles as rapid response units for emergency call outs.
The vehicles are equipped with blue lights, siren and flashing headlamps and will carry medical and life-saving equipment within purpose-built storage compartments. Divisional officer Geoff Todd said: 'The equipment storage design allows for all of the medical equipment to be carried safely and securely, but ready to hand when required on arrival at an incident.
'It is anticipated that this vehicle type will be introduced to all of our ambulance stations over the coming months, providing a rapid response capability across the country.'
