VOLVO is celebrating 50 years of producing its estate range.

It started in 1953 with the launch of the first PV445 Duett, which had sold 90,000 by 1969.

In 1967 the 145 was introduced, replaced by the 240 and 264 in 1974. During the late 70s and early 80s Volvo introduced a new concept with the T5 and T5R, followed by the V70 in 2000. The manufacturer looked at possible development of the estate with the launch of the Versatility Concept Car.
