Firms save cash

BUSINESSES have saved more than £8 million in the past year by signing up to a new service from The Miles Consultancy designed for companies offering cash in lieu of a company car.

The solution ensures drivers claim back any unused portion of the Inland Revenue's Approved Mileage Allowance Payments, the tax and National Insurance-free method of paying employees for covering business mileage in their own cars.

Paul Evans, of The Miles Consultancy, said: 'We have developed the solution to save companies thousands of pounds, or even millions in some cases.'
