THE Stafford branch of Age Concern has taken delivery of three specially converted 3.5-tonne LDV Convoy diesel minibuses for transporting passengers to day care centres.

The minibuses have been adapted to include wheelchair access, reverse warning sensor, tracking system and a tail lift, each being able to carry eight passengers and three wheelchairs.

Kath Trask, chief executive at Age Concern, Stafford, said: 'We operate more than 40 transport services a day, driving members to our day care centres, as well as on organised day trips and other social events.

'We chose LDV for its flexibility to convert the vehicles to our specific needs, allowing our passengers to enjoy comfortable rides with added legroom.' The Stoke-on-Trent branch of Lex Commercials supplied the new vehicles.
