VARDY Group Fleet has announced expansion plans. The company said its team, which supplies vehicles to the daily rental, bodyshop and courtesy car market, contract hire companies, insurance company total loss replacements and to outright purchase customers, has already passed the half-way mark in its target of 15,000 vehicles for the year.

Executives have now brought the company's expansion plan forward by four months and will double its sales force. In total, seven new posts will be created in sales and administration.

David Jewell, manager of Vardy Group Fleet, said: 'We are delighted the plan has started so well and is demonstrating already that we are a serious player in the market.

'We had anticipated having to strengthen the team this winter but have decided to bring this forward.'

The move to gain a larger slice of the fleet market is part of a wider strategy developed by Reg Vardy plc.

Vardy Group Fleet will work independently of, but is complementary to, Vardy Contract Motoring, the contract hire and leasing division.
